Mavband.com makes history... again

Thanks to all of our mavbandfans, the boosters and the MHS Staff for their support this year. Our website traffic has grown to new levels that a few years ago we only could wish for. Our website traffic has allowed us to generate lots of new advertisers who are eager to put thier link on our site and directly attract consumers to thier website and businesses.

In addition, we have added new technology and a new friend to the media team. We have added a more streamlined media page with direct links to new photo formats. We partnered with Flickr to load our photos into their site which gives us more sizes, more space and more exposure for our band. You can visit our flickr website anytime through the link on http://www.mavband.com/ or via a direct link to our sets at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhsmavband/sets . We will now have a webpage for each event in the mavband.com website and a link to the flickr site.

2009 promises to be another big year for the MHS Bands as we begin detailed coverage of the Winter Indoor Competitions. Both Winter Colorguard and Winter Percussion will be competing in 5 competitions from Jan 31 to the end of March. We encourage you to attend some or all of these events to route our band members on to victory. We believe that the developement of the Winter Percussion last year helped us tremendously in our winning SEVERAL "Best Drumline" in our competitions! That's beating the best bands out there!

Keep checking back with the website for more details for 2009!
Happy New Year,
Webguy

Winter Concert a "Great Show"

I hope you all had the opportunity to attend last nights' winter concert. Not only did we have our own fabulous bands but we got a chance to see "our future" as the Mauldin Middle School Wind Ensemble performed their concert for us.

It looks and sounds to me as if our Future is in Good Hands and very promising. Mr. Jim Kilgus and Julie Poston - MMS Band Directors, had those kids pumped and read to go. We were all very impressed. We will see many of these kids next year in our own Concert Band. Mr. Kilgus believes that maybe 50 to 60 kids will join the "Marching Mavs" next season! WOW.

Did you enjoy the Slide Show last night? Thanks to the Media Team's very own Dan Haas for putting that together for us. If you did not get the chance to purchase your Marching Season Compilation Set, you still have time to purchase and get delivery by Christmas. (They make great Christmas Presents) If you are interested, contact me at webmaster@mavband.com and I'll get you going. The price is only $25 and we have over 1000 pictures on the CD alone and nearly an hour long video for your enjoyment. The video includes the 2008 Show "CRASH", Season in Review, Football Games and Competitions. ADDED BONUS this year is the Marching Season Slide Show by Dan Haas.

You can order online also at http://www.mavband.com/cdorder.html

In case no one has told you yet, MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Media Team!
