Sugar Bowl Website Launched

The Mauldin High School Band proudly announces that our Sugar Bowl Website is now up for your review. The link is http://www.mavband.com/sugarbowl. From here, you can find links to very important pages that will describe in more detail. Included are: costs involved, Mavband Rules / Responsibilities, a sample Itinerary, FAQ's, Safety Precautions, Competition Info and links to other projects associated with this trip.

Our trip will cost about $835, and nearly all the funds can be raised by volunteering at various fundraisers. That's right, simply selling Cheese Nachos, working the Greenville Drive Games or participating in other fundraisers can pay for almost your entire trip.

As Mr. Scheuch has stated, "This is a once-in-a-high-school-career opportunity as we only plan events such as this on a 4-year basis." Don't let the cost involved deter you from being part of this historic event.

Keep checking back on our website for more details over the next few months. Want to know how much longer you have til the big day? Check out the countdown window in the Info Center on our home page.

That's all for now!

Mavband is Sugar Bowl Bound

Sugar Bowl Trip
The Marching Mavs are heading to the 2011 Allstate Sugar Bowl held in New Orleans, La.! This trip will not only have us competing in the Sugar Bowl Marching Competition, but will also have us playing on the field at halftime as well. The cost of the trip is approximately $835 and can be paid for almost entirely by just participating in the Drive Game or Cheese Nacho's fundraisers. Our new financial reporting year for the school district begins on Jan 1st so any amount of service you provide in fundraising is applied to your fair share for next year begins then. We promise lots of dates for all who are interested.

Marching Season Ends Strongly

Congratulations to our band, the staff and Boosters for completeing another fine marching season.

Saturday, the band performed the best show they have ever done this season. Although they were short by just .15 points from making the top 8, the band proved once more that hard work pays off. They should hold their heads high knowing that they went after their goal with 100% effort and gave it their all.

Next up are two Christmas Parades in December and our winter concert on Dec 1. Don't forget that the indoor season starts in January.

The next booster meeting will be held this Thursday at 7pm in the bandroom

As always, keep checking for more info from our website at www.mavband.com !

24th Tournament of Bands a success!

Congratulations to the Boosters, Band and Staff as our 24th annual Tournament of Bands went off very well. We had an estimated 3200 fans, staff and band members in attendance. To all the Parent Volunteers who came out and supported our band, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To our Band members who worked so hard, played well and were an example to those around, We Thank You. To Mr. Scheuch, our staff and their families, we thank you for your tiring pursuit of excellence that you are showing our band.

As next years' 25th TOB is now in the beginning stages, we encourage you to let us know what you thought of our event and what you would suggest that may make it even better. Contact myself or Kaye with your ideas and thoughts.

Next up is our competition at Foard High School in Catawba, NC (Near Hickory). Now is a great time to plan to carpool, volunteer and make preparations for the event.

Thanks again,

Grand Champions @ Boiling Springs

A very Wet Soaked "CONGRATULATIONS" to the Marching Mavs as they won Grand Champion at the Festival of Bands competition held at Boiling Springs High School. It was cold, windy and pouring down rain for most of the evening making our victory that much more sweet. A big THANKS to all the band parents who survived without life vests for sticking around.

This Saturday we march at Byrnes High School. The weather will be great and so we expect a great crowd supporting our band. You can get directions and all the info for the tournament by clicking on our website or this link!

Don't forget that the 24th Annual Tournament of  Bands will be held next Saturday, October 10th! Please make every effort to participate and enjoy the fun.
