Traveler Rest Competition a HUGE Success!

Congratulations to the Marching Mav's as they competed at the 17th Travelers Rest Marching competition last Saturday. The Mav's walked away with "BEST DRUM LINE", "BEST DRUM MAJOR", and took second place in their division. Only missing by .25 of a point from winning 1st place.

Expect great things from our band this year. Next up is the Boiling Springs High School competition slated for this Saturday. Our band will perform at 6:00pm and will compete against 31 other bands. Hope to see you there!

*** Volunteers Needed - $25 up for grabs..
From Kaye Emsley...The Greenville Drive has asked for volunteers to man a concession stand on Sunday September 21st as part of the Arts in the Park Festival. The concession will run from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Please let me know if you are interested. We have limited slots, so positions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The football team is now 2-0 when the band plays for them. We only mention that to say thanks for all parents and friends wearing the mavband shirts at the games as they support the band.

Hello From the Webguy!

Thanks go out to Videographer David Fillion and Mavband Photographers Dan Haas and Scott Blackwell for putting out this week the single most Media Projects in one week. We have 95 pictures and 5 new videos from the Hillcrest football game. Expect more next week against TL Hannah and then from our 1st competition at Travelers Rest!

Friday Nite Hits

Congratulations to the Marching Mavs as they had a good show on Friday night against cross town rival Hillcrest. The Marching Mavs performed the first two movements of the show. Despite being booed by the Hillcrest Student Body before, during and after the performance.. the band excelled, smiled and graciously cheered on the Hillcrest Band as they performed their show.

In other Mavband news, our Videographer David Fillion has uploaded two new videos from the first game this year. (Which by the way - WE WON!) Log onto the website and go to Media>Videos and then select the video links on the page.
